Overview The Town of Ashland is developing a Safety Action Plan to identify ways to make our streets safer, more accessible, and more comfortable for everyone—whether you walk, bike, drive, or use another way to get around. As part of this effort, we’re looking at roadway safety throughout Town and identifying strategies and potential projects that can help prevent crashes, reduce serious injuries and fatalities, and improve safety for all users. We need your input to better understand where you experience safety concerns and where improvements are most needed. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts with us by September 21st, 2026 at 5pm. Your feedback will help inform the Town’s priorities and recommendations for safer streets.

Overview The Town of Ashland is seeking public input on its draft Title VI Policy, which establishes how the Town will ensure equitable, inclusive, and meaningful public engagement for federally funded transportation projects. The plan supports compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance, as well as related federal requirements for Environmental Justice and Limited English Proficiency.  Although the Town has been taking the proactive steps already, this Policy will ensure consistent application into the future. Although these requirements primarily apply to federally funded projects, the Town has developed this policy to establish a consistent approach to public engagement and nondiscrimination across its operations. The draft plan is available for public review and comment through Thursday, August 13, at 5:00 p.m. EDT. Community feedback will be used to refine the plan before final adoption by Town Council. Your input will help ensure the Town's engagement practices are accessible, inclusive, and reflective of our community.

The Town of Ashland is revitalizing South Taylor Street Park to create a more accessible, active, and inclusive community space. Guided by the 2024 concept plan developed with the Timmons Group, the redesigned park will feature a new basketball/futsal court, expanded walking loops, interactive play areas, and improved landscaping. Key amenities include a new parking area, inclusive play equipment, a state-of-the-art high school sized basketball and futsal court, and an ADA accessible walking loop. The playground, installed in 2022, and picnic shelter will remain.   Construction is being completed by Talley & Armstrong, with work expected to be finished by winter 2026. Once complete, the updated park will offer a vibrant mix of recreation, play, and gathering opportunities for residents of all ages. Currently, the park is open, but visitors are asked not to enter the fenced in areas.
